Submission Guidelines Soapnuts is an international e-journal dedicated to the practice and discussion of handcrafted soapmaking. Topics may include, but are not limited to, techniques of cold process, hot process, and melt-and-pour soapcrafting, ingredients and supplies, marketing strategy, business practices, suppliers, competition, and people and happenings in the world of handcrafted soapmaking. Articles will be submitted for consideration to the editor, Khadijah Lacina, ummnusaybah@yahoo.com. Editorial correspondence will be sent to the editor, Khadijah Lacina, ummnusaybah@yahoo.com. Acceptance for publication is at the sole discretion of the editor. Articles for publication will be original work and will not infringe on copyright, trademark, or other United States law. All submissions are voluntary and no payment will be made. Stories will be submitted in plain text format (in-line text to an email message), without formatting such as font. Paragraphs will be separated by a blank line and will not be indented. Sentences will have one space after the final punctuation. Stories will be spell-checked prior to submission. Authors will follow standard rules of grammar, including, but not limited to: punctuation, verb tense, and sentence structure, as outlined in such guides as The Elements of Style (Strunk and White) or The Chicago Manual of Style (Grossman). Soapnuts reserves all rights to edit and revise submissions without prior consent of the author. In practice the author will usually be consulted to verify editorial changes. Each article submission will be accompanied by the author's full name (as she wishes it to appear in print) and one or more suggested titles. The editor reserves the right to change the title with the author's permission. The author will also submit her email address (it will not be published). It is preferred that the author submit a small photograph of herself and a brief (3 line) biography. Copyright for articles and other contributions remains with the author. It is understood that, in return for publication, the journal has the nonexclusive right to publish the contribution and the continuing right, without limit, to include the contribution as part of any reprinting of the issue in whole or in part, by any means and in any format. A listing of sales and specials is
offered as a service to our readers at no cost to the advertised
business. Sales are published at the discretion of the editor. Soapnuts
reserves the right to charge a fee for published advertising in the
future.
