‘Nuts in the News
February

Good Golly GRIEF!!   Note to an irrational, pessimistic mind:  Do NOT go on vacation and leave your news notes on the desktop, especially when they look like chicken scratch!  If you do, your loving mother, in the interest of helping, may toss or misplace said notes while cleaning.  Oh my heck…it takes FOR-EVER to reread that many posts!  So, in the interest of getting this out, I will just fall to my knees and beg your forgiveness for missing some of your antics.  Thankfully Jessica is taking over for the time I was on vacation and SHE is a much more organized mind I am sure LOL!  Oh…vacation?  It was great!  I thinks I said I was “…tan, fat and happy…”.  Becky said that means it must have been a success, and ya know what!  She is SO right!

Okay..I am supposed to be talking about you, not me, so here I go!

Denise?  Did you start that new hobby of yours? Folks, in her spare time, she is going to start stained glass creations.  Maybe once the snow clears she will have time.  I declare, every time I looked at the monitor, she was out shoveling ice and snow again.  You go girl!

ListMom Becky became an auntie again!  Welcome to the world, Christopher Howard!   He is named after his father (Christopher) and grandfather (Howard).

Birthdays:  Did we have any?  Steph’s dh, the MAJOR fox..or was that  the major FOX turned 38…hey, I’m that old.  20 years ago I would have sworn that was ancient LOL!  Well, to fill space, my dog turned one this month and is officially out of puppyhood.

Nutella has been voted the official spread of the Nuthouse.

Laura survived the bitter cold with 6 ft snowdrifts and no utilities for the weekend.    Texas of all places got snow, although it didn’t stick around.  Mother Nature has a way of making one pay attention!

Doris got a new job!  Now she is not only remodeling her home, she is starting something new!  I will raise a toast to you girl!

Finola is in the running for one job, and another job offer to boot!

Christa’s family has a new cockatiel and Camille came home with not one, but count them… one-two-three-four-FIVE new fancy mice.  The mice come on the heels of  her doctoring a whole houseful of sick cats.  Last I read they were almost all 100%.

Debbie has a martian for a son, or at least a son with green hair.  This sparked a discussion on all the bazaar things we did as kids, and are still doing as adult LOL!

Frances gave a wildly successful Pampering Talk to a group of ladies that loved her products!

Erika is going to be writing an article about the benefits of using handmade soaps and toiletries for a local newspaper!  I will bet she has done lots of Research & Development on this one. LOL!

Jen popped in to update us on her father.  His cancer screening came back negative!  This is certainly welcome news.

Shawna's dear 90-year-old aunt fell off a golf cart and broke both her arms.   Shawna will be helping her out, so let's hope for a great recovery for Elyse, who is an inspiration to Shawna.

Speaking of health, we have many nuts improving their eating habits.  I didn’t realize there was such a following of the Atkins and South Beach Diets.  Now, you all mind your dinner plates but don’t forget that without that nasty ol’ exercise, it won’t stay gone! <ducking and running here>

Kathy, Michelle, and I had to be without our DHs for awhile, some longer than others.   I for one hate it when mine is gone for longer than a couple days!

Kay has been enticed to jump back into soap making…with what else but Sue K’s Blackberry Sage.

We have an Ohio soap gathering coming up and lots of our members are attending.  I can’t wait to hear how that goes.
