1/2 tsp. beeswax, grated
3

Cream Perfume/Lip
Gloss
Tammy Gargano
This base can be used as
a cream perfume or lip gloss depending on what
you add to it.
Base:
2 Tbsp. Mineral Oil (or Castor Oil)
1 tsp.grated
beeswax
Heat oil in small pan and add beeswax, stirring until
dissolved. Remove
from heat.
*To make cream perfume - stir in 1/2
t. perfume oil
*To make lip gloss - stir in 1/4 t. mica dust
(sparkle) and 1/8 t.
flavor oil (or SAFE EO
that isn't photoxic,
etc. etc...)
Pour into a small jar or tin and let set up for 1
hour.
Castor oil Lip Balm
3 oz castor oil
1.5 cocoa butter
1.5
beeswax
Melt in microwave. Add oil. Stir. Pour into
containers
Lisa's Natural Lip
Balm
8 oz sweet almond oil
1 ½ oz
beeswax
2 tsp. honey
Jenny's Lip
Balm
2 1/2 oz. beeswax
1 to 2 tbsp honey
1
cup sweet almond oil
Candy's Lip Balm
2 tsp beeswax
3 to 6 drops flavor oil
1
tsp sweet almond oil
3 small drops of honey
1 1/2 tsp cocoa
butter
1 vit. E capsule
Lip Balm #1
1 oz shredded beeswax
20 drops liquid
vitamin E
1 oz aloe vera oil
2 Tbsp. witch hazel
1 lb jar
petroleum jelly cheescloth
2 Tbsp. dried
herbs
(recommended are : leaves from comfrey, lavender, and bee balm
& flowers
from chamomile and calendula)
Heat jelly until softened add beeswax & herbs continue to melt.
Strain
herbs with cheesecloth. Stir in aloe, vit. E and witch hazel.
Pour into
containers. Shelf life is about 2 weeks but you can watch
it and it may
last longer. I wouldn't sell this stuff though.
Lip Gloss
2 tsp beeswax
1 tsp honey
7 tsp castor oil
or jojoba or sweet almond oil
1/8 tsp. Flavor oil
Melt the oil and
beeswax together in a little pan over low heat until
the beeswax is
melted. Take off the stove and then add in your honey
and whisk
it all together. When the mixture is nearly cool add in your
flavor
oil, mix it up again and then pour into your lip balm
container.
Since this
comes out to be more like a gloss you can
always add more beeswax to it
so that it is a little harder. Maybe
another 1/2 tsp would do it.
Lip and Skin
Butter
20 oz.s Almond Oil
3 3/4 oz. Beeswax
1/2 pound Anhydrous
Lanolin
5-10 drops of a safe/nontoxic/non photo-toxic EO
8 oz.
Glycerin
Over low heat, dissolve the lanolin in the almond oil, add
the glycerin
and stir until all three are dispersed. Add the
finely-chopped beeswax,
stirring until just melted, add the EO, and
pour the salve into
containers.
Stir the pot frequently and pour
as quickly as reasonable. If you take
too long the lanolin and
glycerin may begin to separate.
Honey Lip Balm
-- by Gail at SERENDIPITY Soap & Sundries
5
to 6 TB. sweet almond or jojoba, or veg. oil ( I used half jojoba
and
half shea butter)
1 TB. beeswax, I will add more of this for a
stiffer balm (Sometimes 2-3
TB)
2 tsp honey (more if you like it
sweeter)
2 drops eo (I use tea tree and peppermint but be very
careful with the
peppermint as it can be a sensitizer... you may want
to use less)
Melt together the oil and beeswax in a small saucepan over low heat
or
in a dbl boiler. Heat until melted. Remove from heat and add
honey and
blend mixture ( I use a very small wisk) I stir until
it is cooled,
then add the eo. I make this balm for my whole
family. I have been
carrying
a .5 oz jar in my pocket book
for 6+ months with no problem of spoilage.
The EO helps preserve it
and I typically choose jojoba oil since it does
not turn rancid.
Lip Balm #2
3 oz almond oil
2 tsp pure honey
1/2 oz
beeswax
1 drop of EO like peppermint or tea trea for chapped
lips.
Melt all together and stir while cooling..
Herbal Face Gel
1 cup boiling water
Some herbs of your own
choice, at least enough to make a quadruple
strength tea
1
teaspoon granulated tapioca
Simmer all the ingredients together until the tapioca swells up
and
begins to disolve. Strain through a clean old nylon
stocking foot. Let
it cool and set up into a gel.
Apply like
a mask and then rinse off with clean water.
Deena's Emu Oil Lip
Balm
We have people beating down our door for
this lip balm! Many tell us
it has helped clear up cold sores,
dry cracked lips, and other problems...can't
claim that in our
advertising, though. : )
28% EMU
OIL
27%
Beeswax
20% Almond
OIl
15% Avocado
OIl
10% Aloe Oil
The scent is a blend of
Lavender essential oil 60%
Lime
Essential Oil 25%
Tea Tree
Oil
15%
Use about 15 drops per oz. of oils in the balm blend.
You can substitute other favorite oils for the almond and avocado,
but I
think the necessary oils are the emu, beeswax and aloe.
This is a firm
lip balm that stands up well in a tube. You
could reduce the beeswax a tad
for a bit softer balm for pots.
I use it in both.
Deb's Green Clay
Mask
You can use a number of
ingredients for a
good facial and there are numerous additives you can use
as well
depending of the type of skin you have...ex;honey to moisturize,
egg
white to help oily skin etc. but mine is middle of the road...
1 cup French Green Clay
1/2 cup oatflour(or colloidal
oatmeal)
4 drops peppermint EO
4 drops lavender EO
*Mix all
well and store in a jar.
Directions; mix one tab. powder with approx.
2 tab. water and mix into a
paste. Apply to face, let dry about 5-10
mins, rinse & pat dry. follow with
your favorite
moisturizer.
*you can also add lavender powder, rosehip powder,
comfrey powder or any
beneficial additive at about 1 tab per
batch. The Swiss like the rosehips as
it has vit.C and the lavender
and comfrey are very healing.
Help for Age Spots Sue's
Recipe
aka melanosis (dark pigmentation):
This
is what I use on my face...I also have a dark patch on my arm,
but
because this tends to be tougher skin than my face, I find it a
little
harder to lighten:
To 10 ml of jojoba oil, add: 2 drops neroli, 1 drop lemon, 3
drops roman
chamomile.
I generally use this after washing my face in the evening. I
apply a little
around the eye area and down the center of my nose,
then moisturize as
usual. And...stay out of the sun, whether
you are using this or not. I
have not been a "sun worshipper"
since I was in my 20s, and even then didn't
do much sunbathing.
However, thanks to hormonal changes and my annual week at the beach, I
am now dealing with these patches of dark pigmentation.
