Soapnuts Share A Smile Program Thank you list moms for your support and
encouragement for this
project! All participants are responsible for the
outcome, not
soapnuts, or Becky, or Camille, or
me.
You all know how little things can brighten your
day, or make your
heart happy, or simply add a little light when
you are feeling a
little on the sad side. You also know the
wonderful feeling that
giving can give, especially that giving that is
done with no
expectation of a return gift.
As you browse through your soapnuts messages, you
will routinely
notice people sharing tough times they are
having, or struggles with
their health. You will also see those that
are bursting to share
something with all of us, from weddings to babies
to weight loss.
From these messages was born the idea for the
ongoing Share A Smile
program.
This is how it works. I will have a
database of people on the list
who are willing to contribute a little of their
time and resources to
reach out to another nut who has shared a major
sadness, struggle, or
joy with the list. As situations arise, I
will assign one of you to
reach out to that person with a gift and a
note. It does not have to
be elaborate or expensive, just something that is
appropriate to the
particular situation, to let that person know
that they are being
thought of. On the other hand, if you are
able to spend or send
more, that is fine too!
An example would be if a nut posts saying that
their a dear friend
passed away. I would then look in my
database of willing donors, and
contact one of them to put together and send a
gift to that person,
with a note of condolance and
support.
Another would be someone who has finally gotten
pregnant, after
trying for a long time. One of the donors
would be assigned to send
a basket, maybe with body butter, a sleep pillow,
some pregnancy tea,
a foot soak...that sort of thing.

in the subject line. I will be sending out
a short questionnaire to
be better able to match up donors with those who
would be receiving
the gift. (For example, I LOVE making baby and
mother products, so I
would be good for baby baskets)

wonderfully compiled, if you are on it, and you
still want to take
part, please let me know and I will make sure

the list.
I have gotten emails from several of those who
received gifts last
year when I began this project, and it really HAS
made a difference!!
